IMG_0689The other evening I was out enjoying a humid lovely walk, as I often like to do in the summertime. Along the way I heard many sounds: crickets chirping, water trickling in a neighbor’s fountain, dogs barking (at me), friends chatting. None of them caught me as off guard as the sound I heard when I rounded the corner back onto my street… What did I hear? Music. How often does MUSIC catch a music therapist off guard? Ha! As I slowed down my walk, I could tell that the music was coming from a neighbor’s house where they appeared to be relaxing on their back deck with some friends. Now that’s the perfect summer day! Great weather, great friends, and great music.

I want to make sure that you have the opportunity to enjoy music with your friends and family this summer, and Frederick is the perfect place to do it! Check out our list below, and please feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments.
