    Initial Contact & Phone Consult

    How do I find you?

When telling people about Noteable Progressions and the services we offer, often their second question after “What is music therapy?” is “How do your clients find you?” Most people don’t immediately think of music therapy when they encounter a challenge in life. Knee replacement? Schedule physical therapy. Fuzzy vision? Time to visit the optometrist. Want to get in shape? Meet with a personal trainer. Stroke? See a music therapist…

    Inquiries

Part of our mission is to be a resource to our community, so potential clients often find us at community events including festivals, resource fairs, walks, support groups, networking events, and more! At these events we provide general information on music therapy and then follow up personally with individuals who have expressed an interest in learning more.

As the field of music therapy is growing and receiving media attention due to high-profile cases such as Gabby Giffords, more and more people are becoming aware of and familiar with music therapy and its potential applications. This means there are more parents who might be searching “music therapy, autism, Frederick, MD” and landing on our website. From the site, they can gather more information as well as contact us directly.

    Referrals

We are pleased to be part of such strong communities in and around Frederick and Hagerstown.  The medical, wellness, and support networks are great resources with which to connect. From those networks, we have met great doctors, physician’s assistants, therapists, community organizations, and more who serve as excellent referrals sources when their patients may not know about music therapy.

We also appreciate when our current clients tell their friends, neighbors, and support groups about our services! Nothing is better than word-of-mouth.

So, I’ve found Noteable Progressions. How do I know if music therapy will be a good fit?

    Phone Consult

After initial contact has been made, we schedule a phone consultation. This is a complimentary 15-minute conversation where we learn about the potential client including a brief overview of their strengths and needs. We also take this opportunity to thoroughly answer all of your questions about music therapy services. From there, we will make our recommendation and likely schedule a music therapy assessment for the client. The Music Therapy Assessment is Part 2 in The Music Therapy Process.
