Park 1It seems like it was just yesterday that I moved here to Frederick and started my job at Noteable Progressions, but it has been just about 5 months. Although I have not seen and done everything that there is to see and do, I have begun exploring my new home. I would like to share just a few of my favorite things to do and then ask you what else I should try out as I continue to explore.

One of my favorite things to do with my days off is to take a walk downtown. It is easy for me to walk downtown from my apartment, and I enjoy just walking around the shops to see what they have or walking through the park. A place that I frequent downtown is the library. On many Tuesdays mornings and early afternoons you can find me spending a few hours looking at books that I might want to read, reading some of those books, or using the internet to catch up on some emails.

One of my favorite places to go when I’m done at the library is Frederick Coffee Company. It was one of the first places downtown that I went with my mom when I was looking for apartments, and I still love going in for a coffee and a bagel. I’m sure they have other delicious things to eat there, but I have yet to try those. I love going in with my computer to have a relaxing cup of coffee while doing a little work. It is one of my favorite places to order coffee around town.

I am so excited to continue to learn about what Frederick has to offer. I hope to go hiking or apple picking before it is too late, but I am even more excited to experience the winter here in Frederick. Thanksgiving to Christmas is my favorite time of year, and I am excited to see how Frederick gets into the holiday spirit!

So now I ask you, what are some things that I should catch before autumn is gone for good? What are some places that I can’t miss, no matter what time of year it is? What is your favorite place to get coffee (that’s not Starbucks)? I would love to add them to my list of places and things to explore!
